Lea Garofalo
Lea Garofalo è stata una testimone di giustizia italiana, vittima della ‘ndrangheta.
Iniziò tutto a Petilia Policastro, Calabria.
Lea nacque in una famiglia con trascorsi mafiosi e la sua vita finì per intrecciarsi quando si fidanzò con il boss mafioso Carlo Cosco.
Nel Dicembre del 1991 diedero alla luce la figlia Denise.
L’anno seguente Lea si trasferì con Denise, a Milano per vivere una vita migliore , serena e lontana dalla mafia.
Arrivarono a Milano, Carlo venne recluso, Lea e Denise si trasferirono a Bergamo.
Nel 2002 Lea trovò il coraggio di tornare nel suo paese e stanca di quella situazione, decise di denunciare la sua “famiglia”.
Successivamente a Lea e a Denise venne affidata una nuova casa nelle Marche, anche se nel 2004 Carlo fu rilasciato e furono costrette a trasferirsi a Bari.
Il 24 Novembre 2009, Carlo convinse Lea con un inganno, a partecipare a una cena dalla zia, ma quella cena si trasformò in violenza e morte.
Ho scelto questo argomento, perchè questa drammatica storia, mi ha molto commossa.
Questo mi fa capire come la mafia non abbia limiti e sia in grado di uccidere le persone della sua stessa famiglia, piuttosto che tradire il loro codice di regole mafioso ( codice d’onore).
Ho associato il mio lavoro, alla seguente immagine, perchè la frase scritta cioè: “L’inganno della mafia” mi ricorda quando Carlo ha ingannato Lea per torturarla, ucciderla e vendicarsi.
