Oltre che a Scampia, la guerra si è svolta anche nei quartieri di Secondigliano e Miano e nei comuni di Melito di Napoli, Mugnano di Napoli, Marano di Napoli, Giugliano in Campania, Bacoli, Casavatore e Arzano. Le cause principali che hanno scatenato il conflitto possono essere ricondotte al controllo del territorio, controllo delle attività illecite a nord di Napoli e vendette di natura personale.
