Pensa è una canzone del 2007, dedicata alle vittime di Mafia e Camorra, con la quale il cantautore Fabrizio Moro vince la cinquantasettesima edizione del Festival di Sanremo nella categoria Giovani.
Il testo è un vero e proprio inno alla vita, in antitesi alle tanti stragi delle organizzazioni criminali, e un invito a tutti gli uomini ad avere il coraggio di combattere un sistema malato fatto di corruzione, morte, distruzione, interesse per il denaro e totale disinteresse per la vita. Secondo le dichiarazioni dello stesso cantautore, Pensa sarebbe stata scritta subito dopo aver visto un film sulla vita del magistrato Paolo Borsellino, assassinato da Cosa Nostra. La canzone di Moro ci parla di uomini che, proprio come Borsellino, hanno avuto la fermezza di ribellarsi alla Mafia e alla Camorra, sostenendo ideali di libertà, rivoltandosi contro chi «sotterra la coscienza nel cemento». Narra di eroi che hanno combattuto contro le faide dei clan e hanno avuto la fermezza di urlare al mondo intero cosa fosse giusto e cosa sbagliato. Nella prima strofa, Fabrizio Moro difende la libertà di pensiero, «la libertà di dire che gli occhi sono fatti per guardare, la bocca per parlare, le orecchie ascoltano […]», alludendo forse al macabro modus operandi del Sistema riguardante le punizioni dei traditori, sapientemente ritratte da Roberto Saviano in Gomorra. Viaggio nell’impero economico e nel sogno di dominio della camorra, il best-seller pubblicato dallo scrittore di Casal di Principe nel 2006:
[…] Gli avevano tagliato le orecchie, mozzato la lingua, spaccato i polsi, cavato gli occhi con un cacciavite, da vivo, da sveglio, da cosciente. E poi per ucciderlo gli avevano sfondato la faccia con un martello e con un coltello inciso una croce sulle labbra. […] Il messaggio scritto sulla carne viene da tutti decifrato con chiarezza, anche se non vi sono altre prove che quella tortura. Tagliate le orecchie con cui hai sentito dove il boss era nascosto, spezzati i polsi con cui hai mosso le mani per ricevere i soldi, cavati gli occhi con cui hai visto, tagliata la lingua con la quale hai parlato. La faccia sfondata che hai perso dinanzi al Sistema facendo quello che hai fatto. Sigillate le labbra con la croce: chiuse per sempre dalla fede che hai tradito. Nonostante tutto, gli eroi di Moro hanno continuato la loro battaglia, consapevoli di quanto la vita sia priva di significato se vissuta nell’oppressione, nella paura, e di quanto la possibilità di esprimersi senza limiti sia fondamentale per l’essere umano. Pur riconoscendo che «gli uomini passano e passa una canzone», il cantautore invita ad un’attenta riflessione sulle proprie azioni chiunque stia per compiere efferati ed inutili delitti, una riflessione che vada contro ogni forma di violenza, restando della convinzione che nessuno potrà mai impedire il concretizzarsi della giustizia. Ed è proprio questo il messaggio forte della canzone.
Le canzoni di Fabrizio Moro pullulano di riferimenti autobiografici e ad una realtà fatta di disagio quotidiano, una realtà concreta della quale rende ogni volta una sua personalissima interpretazione.
Il brano musicale è caratterizzato da una semplicità lineare finalizzata a mettere in rilievo soprattutto il testo. Quest’ultimo è articolato in tre sezioni, di cui la prima più lunga e le altre due più brevi, tra loro separate da un ritornello che trasmette il messaggio principale della canzone.
